Google Earth Virtual Scavenger Hunts

This is a landing page for all virtual scavenger hunts found on this site. All are FREE and designed to be fun and educational diversions perfect for holiday weeks, the end of the year, or as supplements to studies. Once your students have participated in one or two, they might like to create their own.

These virtual field trips and scavenger hunts are designed for upper elementary students. Incorporated into each project are videos and photographs that present cultural, historical, geographical, and scientific information to add to the learning and enhance the “journey.” Critical reading skills are reinforced as students must read and follow directions carefully and gather the information they need to complete the student handout. Each journey ends with a puzzle or riddle to solve.

Choose an adventure below. Materials are free and ready to share with students.
