BYRDSEED: Lessons to Get Kids’ Brains Sweating – Ian Byrd is a nationally-known speaker, giftED presenter, and teacher, and his site is my “go-to” for just about everything! You will find fantastic curricular resources and creative strategies you can use immediately with gifted students of all ages.

GIFTED GURU – Lisa Van Gemert shares best practices in gifted education and is a well-known presenter and author. She and Ian Byrd co-authored the book Gifted Guild’s Guide to Depth and Complexity and her curricular resources are amazing!

JOHN SPENCER – Design Thinking and PBL ~ Former teacher, author, and professor “who is passionate about seeing teachers empower their students with voice and choice.” On this site you’ll find many videos, articles, and resources to help you introduce design thinking to your students as a structure for project-based learning. Highly recommend!

A MEANINGFUL MESS (Andi McNair) – Andi McNair has a passion for implementing Genius Hour and many other meaningful (but sometimes “messy”) learning strategies. Currently serving as a digital innovation specialist in Waco, Texas, she’s also an author and presenter and hosts a podcast by the same name: “A Meaningful Mess.”

ENGAGE THEIR MINDS – Terri Eichholz is a friend, former colleague, devoted teacher, and inspiring presenter! Check out her Genius Hour and Design Thinking resources, her Wakelets, and more. You’ll find links to many of her resources on this site!

GIFTED GUIDE – Created by G/T teacher and Gifted Education curriculum specialist Sarah Young, many resources are freely shared.

MENSA FOR KIDS – Find lesson plans, activity plans, TED Talk Connections, and even Hasbro game connections. Mensa for Kids continues to add wonderful resources “designed to meet the needs of gifted children for extension beyond the standard curriculum. Lessons may be given to the students for individual self-guided work, or they may be taught in a classroom or a home-school setting.”

HOAGIES GIFTED KIDS & TEENS – In the links on this page, you’ll find long lists of resources in various disciplines. In the top menu, find pages geared specifically to parents and teachers.

NRICH (RICH MATHEMATICS) – This site, a product of the University of Cambridge in the UK, is a wonderful source of thousands of engaging and “rich” math lessons that focus on conceptual understanding, problem solving, and investigation. Teachers can search the site for specific grade levels and topics.

GENIUS HOUR LIVEBINDER– created by Joy Kirr, you’ll find everything you need if you’re incorporating Genius Hour into your GT program.

CHILDHOOD 101 – There are some great activities on this site, particularly for your K-2 students. Two examples: Create an Engineering Mystery Challenge Bag and Alphabet Books that Teach Much More than the ABCs. There are also many STEM products reviewed; do a search on the site to find them.
