Recently, I had a chance to introduce a group of 3rd-grade GT students to the Gus and Gabby problems found HERE.
After doing a set of problems, the students asked if they could create their own. They were reading my mind, and I loved that it was their idea!
The process of creating their own problems seemed to be a delightful and engaging challenge for most of them. To test the problems, the students presented their clues to the class and, if necessary, adjusted the clues to make the problem “work.”
So, here is the result: a new set of problems written by GT 3rd graders! We hope you and your students enjoy them and are inspired to create your own, too. Please comment below if you try this with your students.
